Andy’s egg and spoon and marathon of mini-marathons

Story

April 1st is here again so it’s time for another fundraiser from me. Remember last year’s reverse triathlon? This year I will do an electric wheelchair egg and spoon race (time trial) with my best friend Trevor Langley on April 1st. We will be using Cadburys creme eggs. Then on every day except Sundays in April I will walk 26 steps with my wheelie walker. This will make 26 days of 26 steps. Last year you generated sponsorship of over £8000. I’m not expecting to exceed that figure but anything you can donate will really help to push forward the MND Association’s efforts to break the back of this horrible disease. I will post video and photos on this site when I have them.

And the winner is .......

Despite the rain Dad and Trevor completed their egg and spoon race this morning. It was a friendly competition and each was accompanied by their wife just in case there were any dropped eggs – there weren’t! Dad won the coin toss and chose to go first. He completed his lap in 4 mins 33 seconds, Trevor completed his in 4 mins 24 secs making him the winner, well done Trevor and a really good effort Dad also started his marathon of mini marathons yesterday. It was a busy day for him! Using his wheelie walker he’s going to do 26 steps on 26 days, that’s every day in April except Sunday. It's going to be a challenge but he'll do it!!! One down, 25 to go! See the video on the homepage, go I the top of this page, click on the word home then go right to the bottom of that page and click on life stories. Then click on the videos to start them. Becky

Wednesday 24th March and counting, ............

26th March 2021
So Andy has laid down the gauntlet! We have had a dry run of the Egg and Spoon Race round the block. The best lap-time was around three minutes for the 400m course. I am up for the challenge, and prepared to risk life and limb at the break-neck speed of 4mph! Your financial support and verbal encouragement would be appreciated. The training regime has begun in earnest. So, Andy bring it on. I’ll see you on the track on April fools day. And don’t forget the creme egg! Trevor

Getting ready

24th March 2021
Trevor came round yesterday to check out the equipment, the scooter and of course the route we will be taking. All went well and the event promises to be great! I can’t wait to get going on it!
