It has been my privilege to work at the Central Finance Board of the Methodist Church as Chief Financial Officer since 2012. I will retire on 30 June 2022 after more than ten years in post. Rather than a leaving gift, if friends and colleagues would like to do something to mark the occasion, can I ask that they make a donation to the Motor Neurone Disease Association via Andy Laird’s fightback fund.
Andy has battled with Motor Neurone Disease since being diagnosed in 2019 and in that time has shown courage, faith, humility and a wonderful sense of humour. He has been a total inspiration to me and to so many others in the way he has handled his illness and it would be my greatest wish to support his fundraising work to enable the MNDA to carry out vital work to find a cure for this cruel disease.
